Experience
Lauren Gillespie is an Associate with the firm in our litigation section. Prior to joining the firm, Lauren worked as Court Counsel for the Supreme Court of the Republic of Palau, where she drafted opinions and conducted legal research for both the appellate and trial divisions, as well as the Land Court and Court of Common Pleas.
During law school, Lauren was Managing Editor of the Environmental Law and Policy Review, working with the Editor-in-Chief and a team of editors to review and confirm the accuracy of final edits and send the legal journal to print. Lauren also worked as a Graduate Research Fellow at William & Mary Law School, with a focus in the Center for Legal and Court Technology, a non-profit research, education, and consulting organization that works to improve the administration of justice through the use of technology by assisting all members of the legal profession, from courts and government agencies to judges and lawyers.
Before law school, Lauren served as a Fulbright Fellow with the U.S. State Department in Taitung, Taiwan. Lauren handles civil legal disputes for business and individuals, including claims and defenses in contract actions, real estate cases, estate litigation and will disputes, and other various civil matters. She also advises individuals and businesses in review of contracts and leases, including handling landlord-tenant matters and review of community association documents. Lauren is admitted to practice law in all Virginia courts and focuses her practice area in Northern Virginia.
